The Technology division, responsible for the development, operation and further development of our tools, forms the second core area of the company alongside Consulting. On this page you will find an overview of our developed solutions, which are in daily use by customers from a wide range of industries.

Tableau Toolbox

The Tableau Toolbox contains innovative developments that simplify and automate your workflows through the use of useful functions.

Part of the Toolbox are technologies to integrate and use Tableau Writeback Extensions and to create mail bursts. Both tools are available individually or in combination.

The Toolbox can be installed in parallel with running Tableau Server instances or on separate servers and can be used via the web browser.

Form Builder

Form Builder gives you the ability to configure input forms through a simple web interface and include them as a Writeback Extension in any Tableau dashboard. Using the forms, you use the simple writeback mechanism to write data directly from the dashboard to the data source.

Use Form Builder to make your dashboards more interactive and direct:

  • Easily display comments or feedback processes on the dashboard.
  • Visualize planning, forecasting or forecast inputs live
  • Make surveys and results visible on a dashboard without time delay
  • Design processes without changing tools

Mail Tool

Mail Tool lets you automate the delivery of up-to-date, user-specific content to recipients inside or outside your Tableau Server user base. Attach dashboards as images, PDF files, and raw data as CSV or include them as PNG directly in your newsletter. 

The Mail Tool is available through a web interface protected by a login screen.

You can configure as many users as you want, and each can only see and change their own settings.

Mail Tool is installed on the same system as your Tableau Server or on a separate computer. The interface will be available on your network via web browser.

Tableau Portal

The portal offers our customers the ability to easily display their Tableau dashboards on a simple, elegant and easy-to-use website using our M2 Tableau Connection Manager.

Normally, Tableau dashboard users have to log in to Tableau Server and search for their dashboard there.

The portal allows categorization of dashboards by content or topic to facilitate this process. In addition, you have the option to customize the design of the M2 portal to match your company's corporate identity.

With the Tableau Portal, you can easily display your Tableau dashboards on a platform tailored to your needs. The M2 Portal can be easily edited by users using a CMS system (TYPO 3). Our M2 Tableau Connection Manager, built into the CMS backend, also helps you embed Tableau dashboards into the M2 Portal.

The Data Catalog tool allows you to analyze all content published on your Tableau Server. All workbook and data source metadata can be loaded, analyzed, and systemically structured. This automated process helps you efficiently identify redundancies on your server.

With the Tableau Housekeeping Tool you always have an overview of which workbooks and data sources are no longer used on your Tableau Server. The tool informs users that the content will be removed if it is not updated. This helps you avoid redundant content on your server.

Tableau Server Stats lets you monitor activity on your Tableau Server. You can get detailed insights into the usage of your workbooks, such as the popularity of your workbooks, how many workbooks are published, and how often a workbook is consumed.

Terraform

M2 has extensive expertise with Amazon Cloud Services. With Terraform, it is possible to map the various requirements for the customer's Tableau infrastructure in prefabricated templates and to deploy them automatically. Among other things, this enables the creation of identical environments for testing and development.

Excel Tool

Export your dashboard content with one click - convenient and fully comprehensive.

The Excel Export tool allows you to download all the data used in a Tableau dashboard (data from all sheets and the included visualizations). Data formats are recognized and correctly formatted, allowing further calculation without cumbersome formatting in Excel

Tableau Geo Package

Custom maps for Tableau

The M2 Tableau Geopackaging Tool offers the ability to implement custom maps on both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server. Here are some more examples of how you can use the Geopackaging Tool in your Tableau dashboards:

  • You can use it to display your sales regions on the map
  • You can give special names or identification numbers to existing regions
  • The zip code doesn't have to be the last level of detail. You can make your maps as precise as you want!
